I'm honored and happy to once again gratulate the organizers of World of Tango Festival as you have accomplished to organize the third time a great tango view in Tampere. I'm a committed supporter and performer of tango music. As I have been many times having concerts and recording in Argentina and I have get to know the magical and enchanting world of Argentine tango. Now in the 21st century, Argentine tango has become more popular within Finnish dance schools and tango music arrangements. Also many music groups have been established on the base of Argentine tango and Piazzolla's music.

I wish that World of Tango Festival establishes its place as an annual view of tango music. I wish for the audience enjoyable moments with tango music.

Dear Tango Friends,
The World of Tango festival in Tampere has been established viime at the last minute. This festival creates a foundation for the new generations who may not be so familiar with the traditional Finnish tango. World of Tango is concentrated mainly on tango itself. Tango is, as the festival director Simon Riestra says: urban folk music. It's not only danceable but also for listening.

Although Finland is known for its tango, the status of tango is not so good as foreign people, or even us Finnish, may think. Finnish Tango culture doesn't remain alive by itself like in Argentine. For that reason it must be cherised and supported.

Therefore World of Tango Festival is important for those who love the passionate and romantic side of tango. The festival underlines also the artistic side of tango.
