In September, the 14th World Tango Festival will be celebrated with the theme “Viva la vida!” at Culture House Telakka and Culture House Laikku, in Tampere, Finland September 16-18, 2022. The festival takes place this year for the last time.

“The corona pandemic has affected adversely the cultural sector in recent years, and we have had to think about the future of our event. In the working group, we have gone through various options, and have come to the conclusion that this year we will organize the festival for the last time”, festival director Simón Riestra says.

“The festival has been organized with love since 2007. We are happy and grateful for the great experiences we have created together over the years together with the artists, festival audience, and volunteers. Cross-artistry has been present at the festival since the first festival year. The festival has always included plenty of free program, and again this year we are organizing free events in August and September in libraries and restaurants. The festival culminates on September 16-18 with the main program when we gather once again to celebrate tango, culture, and life. Viva la vida!”, Riestra summarizes.

The festival program will be published and tickets are available on August 1, 2022.
